Linganore students commit to college athletics at their respective schools

On February 4, 24 Linganore High School (LHS) students signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers into college.

National Signing Day was organized by LHS physical education teacher Rachael Easterday and held in the main gymnasium.

Students, staff, coaches and family gathered to watch signing athletes commit to the schools of their choice. 

Many different sports were recognized by the various athletes, including baseball, cheer, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer, softball, track and field and volleyball.

For each student, coaches prepared a speech to celebrate their commitment and accomplishments. They shared what they admired about the students and what they would miss about them next year. The speeches also included any specific achievements, recognitions or records broken by the students.

Every athlete was joined by their family as they signed to their respective schools and wished lots of luck by their coaches.

Congratulations to Linganore’s upcoming collegiate-level athletes: Jeremy Allen, Landon Allen, Leah Doornik, Isaac Ferarri, Ben Griffin, Charlotte Grimes, Brynn Groves, Rachel Hepner, Adrianna Howell, Allena Jaworski, Reagan Leader, Bradyn Mackay, Bradly Matthews, Sydney Mott, Chase Perry, Lexie Petrie, Austin Pizer, Drew Rupp, Jordyn Shipley, Dylan Shown, Lilly Trunnel, Garrett Turnbull and Jordan Zimmerman.
