On February 4, Linganore High School (LHS) students attended the 30th annual Polar Bear Plunge. This event took place at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland and brought students from all around the state to join. These students raised money for the Special Olympics of Maryland, who provide sports training and athletic competitions for unified sports, as well as supporting local unified sports programs. To celebrate all the money and awareness raised, students made their way into ice-cold water of the Chesapeake Bay, with news crews all around to film the fun.
Featuring interviews from LHS seniors Alex Pietanza and Lily Tressler, as well as LHS teacher and Student Government Association (SGA) advisor Jeremy Brown, this video tells the story of the Lancer’s plunge and the cause it supports. To learn more about the Special Olympics of Maryland, click here.
