Caroline Hobson

Caroline Hobson, Editor In Chief Emeritus

Caroline Hobson (@CarolineHobso10) is a member of the Class of 2022. In her free time she enjoys art, music, playing piano, and reading. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Caroline is president of the National English Honor Society, and is also part of the Quill and Scroll Honor Society, National Honor Society, Science Honor Society,  Spanish Honor Society, and Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta). She is also part of the Varsity Swim and Dive team. 

Outside of school Caroline loves getting involved in her community and helping others. She is a Gold Award Girl Scout recipient and Ambassador.

Her favorite subjects in school include English, art, and science. Caroline loves all things biology and medicine. She plans to attend the University of Maryland Gemstone Honors program to major in Biochemistry and one day attend medical school to become a pediatrician.  She also plans on minoring in music theory to continue her life long love of piano at a more advanced level.

Caroline joined journalism to express her creativity through writing articles. She loves to inform the world about current topics and write stories that she is passionate about.

Community Involvement starts young in the New Market and Linganore community. The Linganore Oakdale Urbana Youth Athletic Association sports (LOUYAA) have participated in the homecoming parade for years. Linganore Pom & Dance (pictured) and Linganore Cheerleading (not pictured) were both shaking their pom-poms down New Market. The LOUYAA Linganore Pom & Dance program is designed for Kindergarten girls through 8th grade, to learn and perform choreography for halftime performances at LOUYAA Linganore youth football games. The program aims to build confidence while creating friendship. The Linganore High Pom team volunteer their time to teach the younger girls dances and teamwork twice a week.

LHS Gender Sexuality Alliance shined bright in this years Homecoming Parade. GSA will be hosting their 6th annual Winter Formal, more information to come. Be sure to follow @linganore_gsa for updates.

The National FFA Organization, a popular student organization at Linganore drove thought the parade attached to a tractor. Senior Shea Cencula, waves to the community as she rides along on the float. Out of all the groups who entered floats in the parade- they all look great! The judges results placed FFA in 3rd.

"Are you physiqued to be a Lancer?" Is heard amiss screaming fans every Friday night. Led by varsity cheerleading senior captains Gracie Rowe, Lindsey Bruscia, Kerrin Kelsey and Olivia Addis. Both varsity and jv cheerleaders, have learn the true meaning of being a Lancer. Following behind was the Linganore Oakdale Urbana Youth Athletic Association (LOUYAA), Lancer Youth Cheerleading team. The athletes cheer for the Linganore Youth Football program. Cheerleaders ages 5-14 learn skills related to cheering and stunting. Respect, teamwork and self-confidence is promoted. The older, High school girls are looked up to by the LOUYAA cheerleaders.
