Noah Ismael, Editor-In-Chief
Noah, our editor-in-chief, is one of our  brains behind The Lance. A reporter since his freshman year, he is very involved as a part of Linganore's Lancer Media club that meets on Wednesdays in addition to the class. He has written several stories for the journalism program, and he won The Frederick News Post's first place "Mike Powell Excellence in Journalism Award" for a column on a state or national subject. (View the article here.)
He is very happy to be a part of a friendly and supportive journalism program.
I am happy knowing that I am a vital resource to The Lance. Being able to help make this journalism program great is awesome. Everybody who works in Lancer Media is unique, creative, and smart. This is a great staff, and I enjoy being a part of it.
As a part of his journalism endeavors, he has started "Student Media Now," a long-term program intended to eventually unite secondary school journalism programs across the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. metro area. This program is starting up in Frederick County Schools, MD and will act as a hub site for the best stories schools produce.
Other organizations Noah is involved in include band (he's drum major for marching band and he also plays trumpet) and the Student Government Association (he is the Class of 2016's vice president.)
He is considering a career in journalism after he graduates high school as a member of the Class of 2016.
