On February 20, hit singer Megan Moroney released her third album named “Cloud 9.” The release of the album was announced November 11 of 2025 and “Cloud 9” has been a long awaited already by fans.
Moroney has already been very successful throughout her music career While Previously releasing “Lucky” (May 2023) and “Am I Okay” (July 2024). Along with her three albums, Moroney debuted in 2022 with a six-song extended play called “Pistol Made of Roses”
Her albums have earned her awards including Breakthrough Female Video of the Year (2023), Variety Hitmakers Storyteller of the Year#(2025), Billboard Women in Music Rulebreaker#(2025), MTV VMA Best Country#(2025), CMA New Artist of the Year#(2024) and ACM New Female Artist of the Year#(2024).
Moroney released 13 new songs apart of her 3rd album, “Cloud 9.” Songs on the new album include: “Medicine,” “I Only Miss You (feat. Ed Sheeran),” “Wedding Dress,” “Stupid,” “Bells & Whistles,” “Convincing,” “Liars & Tigers & Bears,” “Change of Heart,” “Table for Two,” “Who Hurt You?,” “Waiting on the Rain,” “Cloud 9” and “Wish I Didn’t.”
“This album is the most accurate, like a screenshot of the past year and a half of my life.” Moroney says in an interview with Kelleigh Bannen, Apple Music.
Many feel that when a song album is more personal to the artist it tends to be a lot better. They are able to write from the heart and the music sounds so much more genuine. This is true for Moroney’s newest album.
Some of my favorite songs from the album are “Wedding Dress,” “Stupid,” “Liars & Tigers & Bears,” “Who Hurt You?,” “Cloud 9” and “Wish I Didn’t.” One of the main reasons these specific songs are my favorites is because I personally like upbeat songs and songs with deep meaning and relatability. In particular, up-tempo songs are the kind of songs I can sing along and dance to, I prefer piano and more electric guitar.
“Wedding Dress” is one of the songs that appeals to me because of the meaning behind it. It poses the question: Will she ever get over this boy that she used to love?
It features quotes such as “Let me miss him now, but God don’t let me miss him in a wedding dress.”
Although this song is an absolute tear jerker, it’s definitely one of my favorites. It would not be one of my favorites because it is relatable but because it is genuine, catchy, and powerful.
“Who Hurt You?” Is a classic Moroney-style song that incorporates her real-life experience into the music. In an interview with Elania Dore Gossett, Moroney shared that writing this song explains everything, and by writing this song she feels at peace with her experience. The experience being a not so secret relationship with country artist Riley Green.

I really like “Who Hurt You?” because it is very energetic and the lyrics are counter active in a way where she is fighting back against Riley Green. The song contains some of the most iconic “Cloud 9” song lyrics such as “You said you needed less flashy, more fun,” and “God, I hate how gross you are.”
One song from the album I do not love as much is “I Only Miss You.” I am not a fan of the slowed down pace of the song. It brings down the joyous mood most of the album contains. However, it has a sweet message. Moroney sings, “Baby, I’ve been drinking ‘cause I miss you all the time,” which has a sweet perception because they are singing about how they feel drawn to each other. Sheeran made a contribution to the album in the song “I Only Miss You.” While I do love Moroney and Sheeran, I do not think their voices are great together. His english accent and her southern accent do not blend well. I can see why people like the song so much, but it is just not for me.
Overall, “Cloud 9” is really good, and there is a song for everybody. Whether you like love songs or breakup songs, slow songs or upbeat songs. I still love Moroney’s other albums, and I think she is growing so much as a music artist. I believe it is important that she keeps her signature style of music, and the music based on her personal experiences that is her way of writing from the heart.
Moroney will be taking “Cloud 9” on tour. Moroney’s tour will be from May 29 2026 to October 2026.
Overall, the album is a 5/5, and the tour will be just as amazing as the album. Getting to hear each of her new and trending songs in person will be the experience of a lifetime.
