On May 17, the Spanish Honor Society held a dinner for the senior members at Isabella’s in Downtown Frederick.

Isabella’s has traditional Spanish food from Spain. The executive chef is Mario Sanchez.

Some of the tapas ordered were hamburguesas de chorizo, chorizo, albóndigas, panini de manchego y soujouk and paella de pollo y champiñones. A lot of the dishes have chorizo which is a spanish sausage.

Since the tapas are small plates of different foods, students were able to try lots of different things. After the dinner, they were able to walk around downtown Frederick and visit a variety of shops.

Isabella’s Spanish influenced decor to make it seem like the guests are in Spain.

The senior members that are part of the Spanish Honor Society are Olivia Hiltke, Savannah Sitler, Samantha Schauberger, Kelsey Wiegand, Caroline Etherton, Noah Price, Sean Butehorn, Shelby Tkacik, Hanna Parker, Julianna Zemil, Claudia Bremer and Megan Reeseman.

Olivia Hiltke was the president and Savannah Sitler was the vice president.

The honor society is growing because there are many sophomores and juniors who joined this year.

“I’m not a senior, but this is my last year at Linganore because I’m moving this summer. Seeing everyone together one more time was really fun,” Bridget Curtis said.

A requirement for membership includes completing Spanish 4.

Throughout the year, the Spanish Honor Society has participated in events with the French honor society, a movie day after school, a field trip to Washington, D.C. to see traditional flamenco dance, the Lancer Candy Lane and a Cinco de Mayo celebration. The induction was on March 24.
