On March 22, Linganore’s varsity baseball team lost to South Carroll 9-4 after playing a hard-fought game.

Even though there was individual success, the team could not come together to pull out the win on the road.

Junior shortstop/pitcher Stephen Curry and senior outfielder Ben Boyer each had 2 hits while junior second baseman Gavin Liberto, junior pitcher Austin Perando, and senior catcher Charles Musser each had one hit.

The team was very disappointed after the game as they believed the game t0 be very winnable.

“We played terrible, we were way better than them skill wise, and they played a quality game while we … I dont know how to describe the game we played,” said junior Pitcher/utility man Augie Jansen.

Liberto agreed with Jansen on the team’s performance.

“Yea, I may have gotten a hit, but that was the worst baseball game I’ve played in a long time,” said Liberto.

Musser, however, had a better outlook on the game and the team’s overall play.

“Our first two innings we came out the gate hot then fell off a little bit,” said Musser. “We had a good amount of mental stuff out in the field that are easy fixes, and we started to get the fire back we had at the beginning of the game towards the end.”

Although the team was disappointed with the loss, they would redeem the next day by beating Walkersville 5-2
