Every year, the National English Honor Society (NEHS) and Mu Alpha Theta hold a game night for all of their members, old and new, which has always been a crowd pleaser for NEHS/Mu Alpha Theta member’s experience, and is often the first event held after both inductions (as it was this year).

Continuing this tradition, November 12 was the annual game night, held from 6:30 to 8:00 in Mrs. Natalie Rebetsky’s classroom(s). 80 members from both honor societies crammed into the rooms for an hour and a half of fun. There was a surprising turnout of around 80 people, and for the entire hour and a half there were groups playing all different games on the desks, in the hallway, and even on the floor.

Many of the students brought their own games, from “Apples to Apples” to “Funglish,” to “Coup” and “Chess,” and many, many more games. With the games some students brought food or drinks for everyone.

Groups were playing “Heads Up” and other games the entire night, overflowing the entirety of both of Mrs. Rebetsky’s rooms.

Along with the games and food, everybody who came entered into a raffle for five gift cards. The winners were Emily Kelley, Colin Choudhary, and Amanda Lindsay for the three$10 Amazon gift cards, and Valerie Ducos and Maddie Spisso won the two $5 Dunkin Donut gift cards

“Game Night was a huge success,” said Colin Choudhary. “Both honor societies brought a huge turnout which made for a fun and engaging event. I even came home with a $10 Amazon gift card!”

Tonight, November 13, Mu Alpha Theta is also holding a fundraiser event from 5:00 to 10:00 at California Tortilla in Frederick. The next event for both the NEHS and Mu Alpha Theta will be Lancer Candy Lane in December.
