On May 2, the football team traveled to St. Paul’s High School to play in the Baltimore Ravens 7 on 7 Tournament. For the eighth consecutive year, The Ravens hosted the 7 on 7 Football Tournament, presented by Under Armour. The tournament served as a summer primer for 72 high school aged teams from around the area as they prepare for the fall season.

The team played four games. The first game was a win against Landsdown High School, followed by a win against Long Reach High School. The team lost their third game against Mergenthaler High School, with a score 5-3, and won their last game against Westminster High School in overtime on a pass from Timmy Conner to Xander McClure. The team finished third overall; Mergenthaler finished second; and Urbana High School won the tournament.

The team gathers together to discuss their next game.

“My favorite part of the day was just being with my team, bonding and playing together to win,” said sophomore Xander McClure. McClure was a big part of the team’s offense during the tournament, helping them win most of their games, along with McClure, Johan Samayoa and Cole Mitchell also played a big role on offense. On the defensive side of the field, Will Coletti, Max Ross, and Zach Keisling all had interceptions, helping carry the team to three wins.

One of the biggest games of the day was against Long Reach. Early in the game, Linganore was down but came back and won on the last play of the game to secure their second win of the day.
