Linganore was crowded on the night of November 15.

The Drama Department’s It’s A Wonderful Life performed their opening night. With a daily rehearsal schedule and a long three months of work behind them, the excitement for the performance from the cast and crew was at an all- time high.

Adding to the full parking lot, the varsity football team had a game against Rockville. The game had been hyped up all week, and was sure to draw large crowds.

Gabby Thompson, a junior and a fan of the football team, said, “I really love the games; I’m super excited for each one when they come up. Everyone coming together and cheering on the team is so cool, and one of my favorite parts of high school.”

The mix of the two events caused for a train of cars circling the high school. People dressed in formal attire were ready to attend the show, and people with painted faces were ready to attend the highly anticipated game. The traffic really showed off the chaos of the clashing events.

Both events were major successes. Linganore won with a score of 43 – 12. The team secured a spot in the Class 3A State quarterfinals from the success. The team will host the North Point Eagles of Charles County on November 22.

Senior Maggie Adams saw the show and said “I liked the show because everyone performed really well. I was really brought into the story.”

Linganore’s drama department will now begin working on its Spring Musical, Newsies. Senior Emily Webb will be directing, and auditions for the musical are December 2, 4, and 5.
