The beginning stage of one of Linganore’s most popular events has begun. The applications for Mr. Linganore were distributed the first week of January.  Seniors have until January 12 to return the application and be one of the 12 competitors.  If you did not get an application, they are outside of C101 (Mr. Jeremy Brown’s office).

Mr Linganore competition includes a talent, question and answer, entrance theme and a dance. The event is a fundraiser for the LHS Renaissance awards.

Mr. Linganore’s title of XXL is a play on the show’s twentieth anniversary(XX), and the theme of larger than life characters (XXL).

Applicants must find a business sponsor who is willing to pay $75 in the support. This donation goes towards the cost of costumes, props and supplies for the event.

The costumes for the show are provided by Gene’s Costumes.

The dance portion of the event is coordinated by Linda Gouker, a retired FCPS teacher.

The first 12 applicants who submit their application and sponsorship confirmation will be in the show. The completed application should be returned

Mr. Jeremy Brown and Mrs. Natalie Rebetsky are the MC’s for the event.

Adriana D’Amore and Katie Constantine are the students in charge of the event. They help coordinate with the contestants to make sure everything gets done on time.

“I would say I felt surprised because I really didn’t think I was going to win but I was really happy I won. I’d say it was one of my favorite high school events that I participated in. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good time with their buddies,” last year’s winner Jacob Frey said.
