The annual Great Frederick Fair lasts for one week, normally the third week in September. These seven days are packed with activities to experience and exhibits to visit. From the Kenley T. Hubble, LLC. Birthing Center to Carnival Midway rides, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

One exhibit in the Home Arts & Crafts Building accepts art entries from an array of fields to be judged and awarded. The categories include: Photography, Fine-Arts, Multi-Media, Afghans, Quilts, Children’s and Middle/High School art, and Baked Goods (judged separately). The exhibit was open to public at 9:00am on September 16, allowing visitors to browse the variety of entries and observe the awards given.

“In that building, there were projects done by Linganore High School students. There were horticulture arrangements, beautiful photographs, and a lot of informational posters about animal science and safety. Linganore students made a lot of posters about veterinary safety,” said Greyston Harding, a member of the Class of 2018.

Every year, there’s live music at the Grandstand. This year, there was a total of 7 concerts: 3 Doors Down on the 15th, Travis Tritt & The Charlie Daniels Band on the 16th, Cole Swindell on the 17th, The Doobie Brothers with JD & The Straight Shot on the 21st, Casting Crowns on the 22nd, and Lee Brice on the 23rd.

Over the course of a week, the Frederick Fair hosted over 85 events.
