Kicking off the homecoming festivities, students wore ‘mixed up’ clothing to help contribute points toward their class to win the spirit stick on Friday. Every student who dresses up for the designated days throughout spirit week receives a point towards their class score.

On this “mixed up Monday” many students wore bright colors and crazy patterns. For first-timer Class of 2021, this day was probably different than any school day they have experienced before. Spirit week is one of the most exciting times of the school year.

Senior Brianna Dellavalle, said, “I like ‘mixed up’ Monday because everyone wears wacky clothes without worrying what they look like. It is fun to not care if  your clothes match or not.”

In past years, this themed day has been called “Wacky Tacky Wednesday,” and it has always been a favorite among students.

Every day brings a new challenge for each class, building the anticipation for homecoming weekend. This 2017-2018 school year, the days for spirit week are: Mixed up Monday, Trick or Treat Tuesday (because it is Halloween!), Way Back Wednesday, Class Color Day Thursday and Red, Black and Bow Day Friday.

While some didn’t participate in the first day of activities, they have the rest of the week to make up for it. There are games and contests that students can volunteer to participate in throughout lunch shifts this week.

Get involved in the spirit week fun and support your class!
