The PTSA presented a movie in the auditorium about the dangers of subscription drugs and heroin overdoses.  Thanks to principal Mrs.Doll, the documentary Chasing the Dragon was approved for viewing. Along with the screening, the PTSA also invited guests from the FBI and the Up and Out Foundation. This event was also made possible thanks to Una Barbagallo who had assembled this entire event.

Produced by the FBI and DEA, The documentary included four unscripted interviews and lots of raw emotion from people who were either previously drug addicts or had a relation with one. One, lost her daughter due to these deadly substances. Another victim was in jail, Had four kids, three of which were in foster care.

PTSA also invited Pam Knight, a 1982 graduate from LHS. She spoke about her son who had overdosed in the past. Through her story, she encourages parents to break down walls and communicate with their teens about how powerful and addicting drugs are. Knight said, “Having a kid who is a drug addict is a life sentence.”

The free event ended with dinner provided by Chipotle and visitors leaving with prizes won from the drawing.
