The girls varsity and junior varsity field hockey teams both took on the South Carroll Cavaliers on Friday, September 8th. Both teams had enthusiasm and played hard, yet both suffered a defeat of a score of 0-2 for the varsity, and 0-3 for the JV team.

There are three team captains on the varsity team, Seniors Allison King, Anna Smarrelli and junior Paige Wilhelm.

“Even though we may have lost, I think this game was a good start to our season. Everyone gave great effort and that’s all I can ask for as a captain and a member of the team. Now we know what to improve on for the rest of the games this season,” said Allison King.

Paige Wilhelm said, “We had a really good game overall. South Carroll just ended up with the points. We have a lot of young players, and these first few games are definitely going to be great opportunities for us to grow as a team.”

The next field hockey game will be at Tuscarora on Monday, September 11, varsity at 4:00 pm and JV at 5:30 pm. Come show your support. For more information about the field hockey team and important information visit the Linganore field hockey Twitter page.
