On February 3 Justin Knotts signed his National Letter of Intent.  Knotts, who has been an athlete since he was six years old, now gets to play for a collegiate football team, The College of Holy Cross.

The signing was bittersweet to Knotts. He is sad to leave behind the strong bond he has with his high school teammates as they go their separate ways.

When varsity football head coach Coach Rick Conner spoke about Knotts, Conner complimented Knott’s incredible work ethic and academic accomplishments.  Knotts earned only one “B” his entire school career.

In college Knotts plans to study medicine.

Knotts’ mother, Jenn, said she was sad to think about him leaving home, but it Holy Cross will be a wonderful experience for him. She is pleased Knotts is able to further his education without having to give up sports. “He will have opportunities he has to shadow doctors, do research, and do what he wants to do,” said Mrs. Knotts.

Mrs. Knotts continued, “He always wanted to play football, and he never wanted to disappoint his coaches.”

After signing, Knotts said, “I would like to thank my family, friends, and everyone who was supported me through everything.”

In addition being an excellent student and athlete, Knotts is also competing in the Mr. Linganore competition in March 2016.
