February 10th was the first club day of the new semester. Students met throughout the day in many clubs, from Animals 101 to the Harry Potter Alliance.

Members of Rho Kappa, the National Social Studies Honor Society, met to discuss the Society’s upcoming induction ceremony on February 24th.

Club officers Evan Aliva, Maria Pellicier, and Madeline Wodaski will join other current members in welcoming new inductees, including Joe Calder, Kate Cameron, Valerie Coblentz, Maleeha Coleburn, Alex Dao, Olivia DuBro, Morgan Eisenhauer, Meghan Gagne, Noah Garabedian, and Gregory Gaydosh.

Additional inductees include Cassandra Harris, Tony Komara, Thomas Lang, Megan Leyh, James Looper, Robbie Miley, Eva Rowan, Emma Roerty, Brandon Sapp, Jon Sikora, Joseph Slattery, Kasal Smaha, Zachary Smithson, Ryan Stark, Paul Steves, Gregory Thompson, Grace Weaver, and Rhiannon Wiland.

Current Rho Kappa member and senior Sara Combs said, “It’s really cool to see our club expanding so much. Last year, Rho Kappa would only take up about half a classroom. Now we barely have enough seats for everyone!”

Sophomores and juniors interested in joining Rho Kappa next year should apply at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. To be eligible for membership, a student should have taken at least two social studies courses and be prepared to take at least three and maintain a 3.00 GPA in those classes.
