With the commencement of spring sports on March 1, many teams are busy preparing themselves for the upcoming season.

Among those teams is the Track and Field team, under Head Coach Bill Eckard.  With many new students coming into the program, Eckard and his team are hoping to challenge long time rivals Urbana and Oakdale High Schools.

Another exciting addition to the Track and Field program is UMBC Track and Field alumni Emma Mayne.  Previously a thrower at UMBC, Mayne will be overseeing the field program this season.

The Track and Field team will have a busy meet schedule, beginning with their intrasquad meet held March 17, determining the races each member will compete in this season.

Good luck to the girls and boys track team, as well as the other spring sports teams, as their season begins.
