The Winter Semi-Formal dance was hosted on February 13th by the Student Government Association.

Despite the slow start to advertising due to the snow days off from school, the SGA managed to sell approximately 80 tickets and decided to hold the dance.

SGA Officer Josh Watson took initiative to plan the first winter dance since 2008.

“While we expected more higher numbers in attendance, it was still a good time. Many people have complained about not having a winter dance in years past, and almost everyone there enjoyed the dance. I think that it would be a good thing to continue in years coming so the event can grow and become a Linganore tradition,” said Josh Watson.

“I think that it went really well for our first time hosting a Winter dance in eight years. Even though it was relatively small, everyone seemed to have a great time,” said Watson’s older brother and SGA President, Matt Watson.

The dance took place in the cafeteria, which was decorated with artificial snow, trees, and lights. The winter theme was complete with the addition of a hot chocolate bar.

Teacher chaperone, Pam Knight, said, “I think that the  dance turned out really well, and it should definitely become a Linganore tradition for years to come.”
