After their season, girls lacrosse had a banquet at Dutch’s Daughter in Frederick.

JV had a record of 6 wins, 4 losses, and 1 tie while Varsity had a record of 3 wins and 8 losses in the regular season. In playoffs, varsity made it to the second round, beating Seneca Valley, but they lost to Oakdale.

The banquet gave the coaches of both teams a chance to recognize each of their players. Every player received an athletic award for participation and effort on the teams.

Varsity coach , Jackie Sowers, says her favorite part of the season was “the Oakdale playoff game because when we were in the lead at one point, I could see the team coming together and how confident and happy everyone was. It was a lot of fun.”

There were three awards given out to varsity players by their head coach, Jackie Sowers. Kylie Cross received the award for “Unsung Hero” because of the way she kept the team together by always having a smile on her face and keeping things in a positive light (even when they were losing).

Morgan Eisenhauer was awarded with “Most Improved” athlete due to her significant advance in skills throughout the season. Emma Roerty won “MVP” on the team. Roerty excelled this season with 56 goals and 22 assists.

Roerty is heading to West Point Academy in the fall to continue her lacrosse career.

Some of the lacrosse athletes have already started there off season training, prepping for next year’s tryouts.
