On February 9, FCPS experienced yet another snow day, the sixth of seven allotted calendar days. News about the snowfall was what everyone was talking about on Monday–it was a more popular topic than SuperBowl 50 commercials. Teachers were even assigning work for students to do in case of a day off.

After FCPS made the 2-hour delay call, the system revised its plan to a full closure.  All over, streets were slippery, snowy, and wet, as the temperatures hovered just above freezing.

According to The Weather Channel, about one to three inches was expected from winter storm “Nacio.” States around Maryland were expected to get the same amount if not more. Overall, all mid-Atlantic states expected to get 6 inches of snow by Wednesday.

While some students are worried about snow days impacting spring break, Junior Becki Aquino said “I’m just glad I’m not at school.”
