After a successful season last year, the pressure was on the boys varsity basketball team to perform as well as they did in years past. Not shockingly, the Lancers surpassed expectations when they emerged victorious against South Carroll scoring 74-56.

Throughout the entire game, Lancers dominated the court and led by a landslide. Lancers weaved through South Carroll’s defense with ease and scored many successful shots.

South Carroll’s couldn’t penetrate Linganore’s strong defense to approach the basket. The Cavaliers were forced to attempt mainly perimeter and 3 point shots. A majority of these shots didn’t pass through the hoop.

Linganore’s powerful plays were made possible by their incredible teamwork. The Lancers gravitated towards a passing offense that utilized the entire team to score.

After the big win, Coach Kraft was quite proud of his team.

“Usually players experience first game jitters, but tonight our team played a solid game and didn’t show any signs of nervousness. Definitely a great start to the season,” said Kraft.

Congratulations boys varsity basketball on the win over South Carroll. Come out and support the team at their next game on December 8th, at 7:00 against Middletown at Middletown High.
