On Wednesday, December 9, the boys varsity basketball team traveled to Middletown High School to take on the Knights.  The night ended with a victory for the Lancers, who won the game 82-57, but the night marked an even bigger accomplishment for one of Linganore’s players.

After four years playing on Linganore’s varsity basketball team, senior starter Thomas Lang scored his 1,000th point in his high school career.

#00 Lang has been a prominent player on his team for many years, but he has now guaranteed himself a legacy in Linganore’s basketball program, being one of only two players to ever reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Lang was honored at the team’s home game against Catoctin on Friday, December 11 for his achievements.

A short ceremony took place to recognize Lang in the center of the gymnasium in front of cheering fans, parents, and teammates.

Lang and the rest of the team celebrated afterward by dominating Catoctin with a final score of 85-36.

Lang’s stats for the first three games of the 2015-2016 season:

64 points
18 assists
18 rebounds

Lang is also committed to continue his basketball career at Division II Shepherd University next year.
