On Saturday October 24th the Linganore marching band and color guard will compete in the Tournament of Band region 5 Championship competition. There are 15 other bands from Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

The marching band and color guard have competed in two competitions so far this year and have come back with a win. Hopefully they will win again.

Class of 2018 member Madison Riley is a member of the marching band. Riley is a percussionist and plays the vibraphone. Riley says, “ I enjoy band and it’s really fun.“We have been the largest band at [all] the competitions [we have attended] which is really cool.”

Not only do people take band for their love of  music but for the friends they make throughout their journey in high school.

Class of 2019 member Makayla Christy who plays the alto saxophone says, ” I joined band because I love music. Band feels like a family to me and I feel apart of the family.”

Come and watch the marching band and color guard compete at five o’clock pm here at Linganore!
