Cheerleaders to represent Frederick Co. at state competition

After taking first place in the county competition, the varsity cheerleaders competed at the North Region Cheerleading competition held on Saturday, February 7 at Harford Community College. They competed against 14 other teams from the Northern region, which included stiff competition from Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, and Harford Counties. The Lancers were excited to attend the competition, after putting in months of hard work to perfect their 2:30 second routine, which consists of difficult stunts and tumbling skills.  The team placed seventh, earning the last qualifying spot for state competition.

During the hours spent waiting to compete, the LHS cheerleaders prepared to dazzle the judges and supported their competitors. The girls competed last, closing out the competition with a sharp and clean routine, supported by their coach, Janet Ingram.

Both Linganore and Tuscarora represented Frederick County at the competition. Placing seventh, LHS claimed the last qualifying spot to advance to the state competition, while Tuscarora followed close behind.

The LHS cheerleaders will  represent Frederick County this Thursday, February 12 at North Point High School. The competition begins at 6:30.
