Lancer Media Kitchen: Mug ‘O’ Brownie, the perfect after school snack

Do you come home hungry as a horse and a little bit cranky?  I have the perfect recipe for you. This will be your favorite dessert to make when you get home from a long day at school. This chocolate gooey wonderfulness will make you beg for more.

 

Level: Easy

Prep Time: 3 mins

Cook Time: Less than 2 minutes

 

Materials:

Microwave safe mug

Microwave

Measuring spoons

Measuring cups

Fork

Ingredients:

¼ cup of sugar

¼ cup of flour

2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

pinch of salt

¼ teaspoon of  cinnamon (add more to taste)

¼ teaspoon of  vanilla

2 tablespoon of vegetable oil or canola oil

¼ cup of water

Optional:

2 tablespoons of chocolate chips (any size will do)

2 tablespoons of walnuts or any other nuts you have on hand

Ice cream

*Note: You may add as much or as little as you like.

Instructions:

 

  1. Add all dry ingredients, but chocolate chips and walnuts in a microwave safe mug. Mix well until you see no clumps left in mug.
  2. Add vanilla, stir, then oil and water and stir again.
  3. You should have a chocolate mixture that is a little bit thick and smooth.
  4. If you chose to, add the chocolate chips and walnuts and stir until you feel like it is well incorporated.
  5. Put the mug in the microwave for 90 seconds in intervals of three. About 65 seconds in, you will be able to see the brownie form. After the full 90 seconds, take out the mug. It will be very hot.  Take a bite, it should be cake like/ gooey. You can always add 10 seconds if you feel like it needs it.
