Juniors came to school October 22 looking sleek and prepared for the annual junior interviews. Interviews were held during first and second periods in the cafeteria.

These interviews are held every year for students enrolled in English 11, once each semester, for students to practice interview skills.

Linganore graduates and local volunteers act as the employers. Students have to prepare a resume and a letter of application, and, during the interview, the employer will ask questions based on the student’s resume.

“I volunteer at these kinds of events because I enjoy working with students. They are the future. I am a retired Naval Academy officer and a substitute teacher for FCPS; therefore, I have real-life experience in interviewing,” said volunteer Mr. Dick Zimmerman.

Interviews can last anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depending on the interviewer.

“I was nervous for my interview, but I already have a job, so I kind of knew what to expect. I was asked questions like, ‘What are my strongest and weakest traits?'” said junior Andrew Pare.

The event is organized by Internship and Work Study coordinators, Mr. Jeremy Brown and Mrs. Jennifer Radil-Harris, with support from the English Department.

Special thanks to the volunteers:
