First period pep rally recognizes fall sports going to championships on Saturday

A pep rally was held Friday morning to support members of the field hockey team as they will be compete in the state championship this Saturday. Varsity Girls and boys cross country and the girls varsity soccer team will also be competing in state championships on Saturday.

The morning started off with the presentation of the colors by NJROTC members, while the band played the National Anthem. The pom and dance team performed a routine to hype up the crowd. The cheerleaders also joined in, chanting Linganore’s signature cheers.

Members from the varsity football team and varsity softball team went head to head at a quick game of indoor field hockey. The boys won, 1-0. Afterwards the field hockey team was recognized and the head captains and coach spoke on behalf of the team, thanking the Lancer community for its support.

Throughout the pep rally various other activities and achievements were announced, including the FFA, the cast and crew of Our Town, and the three Scholastic art competition winners.
