What comes to mind when you think of Homecoming? For the Linganore and New Market Community they think of long lasting traditions, memories and family. The Senior Class of 2022 is next to leave the Linganore nest. Waving to friends and family during their last Homecoming Parade, Ellie Breidenstein, Maeve Smarick and Emma Watkins find it all bittersweet, " I remember as a Freshmen everyone would tell us High School would fly by, I never believed them until now. Linganore will always hold a special place in my heart, it'll be hard to leave the day of Graduation but I know I will always have a home here and for that I'm grateful. " said Breidenstein.

While the Sophomore Class of 2024 has offically been High School students for two years, this is their first year of participating in Homecoming Week. What better way to make their debut then include their entier class onto one small float. All 2024 Class Council Members have their names written on the outside of the red balloons seen on the back of the float. Class Secretary Alexis Rich said, “We wanted to stick with the theme of the dance, hence the silver balloons and tinsel to represent diamonds from the sixties, the diamond decade."

How does the band achieve perfection? It's simple, dedication to each individual detail. Standing in formation, marching with a roll step, and attending hours of band practices are just a few key steps that help them reach greatness. Directed by Mr. Lloyd, walked proudly though the streets before heading to their competition at Century High School where they placed second overall.

The Freshman Class of 2025 were not shy in their first Homecoming event. The Class of 2025 prince and princess, Noah Orndorff and Aliyah Covey followed behind. Freshman class council member Josslyn Quansah was more than happy to particpate in Homecoming week, "I felt [like I was] a part of something bigger and felt the pride of creating an artwork representing the class of 2025,” said Quansah.

"Once a Lancer, Always a Lancer." The unofficial school motto couldn't have anymore truth to it. Linganore Physical Education teacher, Rachel Easterday and Special Education teacher, Traci Davies joined the Junior Class on the road to remembrance. Easterday graduate of 1996 and Davies graduate of 2016 haven't strayed far from their roots. Family and Friends, LHS graduates themselves, cheering along main street decked out in Lancer gear. While sticking to the homecoming theme, Lancers truly are forever.

With the 20-21 school year starting in virtual learning, many classes had to be altered to fit the changing school year. One of the classes was ceramics. Students that requested this class were given Art 1 and Sculpture, since the students couldn’t work with clay. Sculpture made by Emily Frisley.
