The 18th Annual Mr. Linganore contest “It’s a Royal Affair” will be on March 4 at 7:00 p.m. Lancer Media is covering each of the contestants leading up to the big day.

One of the 12 contestants for the crown, Kyle Austin is going to be portraying King Tut.  He will be escorted by Faith Nalepa and his dance partner is Taylor Thomas.

“I wanted to be King Tut because like me, he was showered in women and treated like a god,” said Austin.

His favorite part of the competition has been getting his “groove on” at dance practice. He teased his fellow competitor and friend, saying the hardest part of the competition will be watching Nick Bennett dance during the competition.

Austin has participated in other Mr. Linganore competitions and believes that this gives him an edge over the other contestants. He has also stayed up late watching film from past competitions to help him understand the competition and how the judges may possibly score.

Austin’s confidence also gives him an extra advantage. “I mean have you seen this smile, how are they going to turn me down?”

He is most excited about winning the competition and making good memories. Austin thinks he will do best at the preliminary competition, building the gumdrop tower because he has steady hands.

Austin is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and the Science National Honor Society.

He plans to study Business at University of Maryland.
