Poll: Lancers could “unplug” for several days, if needed
On March 7th and 8th, the National Day of Unplugging , 13,000 people unplugged their devices and went throughout a 24-hour day completely free of their electronic ties. With the motto, “I unplug to _____,” the participants filled in the blank on the day of disconnect with their goals, such as “read,” “talk face to face,” and “bring back the beauty of life.”
Lancers, last week we wanted to know: Could you disconnect? If we asked you to unplug, would you have the willpower?
Apparently, you could.
In terms of length of unplugging, the most popular choice was “Several days,” although many people asked us if it would be their own choice or if they would be forced. Despite the frequency with which Lancers are on their phones, if you really needed to, 48% of you could go without your phones, iPods and other devices for even more than 24 hours.
Nearly 20% of respondents said that they could go without their devices for a day. Over 10% said that they could only last a few hours; 3% responded with “an hour,” as well as “5 minutes, maybe.”
Sad to say, almost 20% said that they “can’t breathe without their technology.”
