October 24, the boys and girls JV and varsity teams competed at Frederick County Championships.  The meet was held at Catoctin High School and proved to be a very tough course for everyone.

The girls ran well overall with Caroline Perrone coming in 13th place with a time of 22:21. Other racers on the girls team in the varsity race included Rachel Hall followed by Abbey Hall, Molly Anderson, and Olivia Myers.  They finished 5th overall as a team with a total of 143 points.

The boys varsity were unsure going into the race due to runner Anthony Giacco and Alex Kullgren not being able to race last minute.  This put a lot of pressure on the team going into the race. The course was tough due to sharp turns, narrow trails, and lots of hills.

Overall, the team ran very well and finished second overall with 92 points. Carson Buck came in third with a time of 17:49, followed by Cole Williamson with a time of 17:54 in fourth place.  In thirteenth with a time of 18:39 was Jack Sears. Zack Hunsaker, Marty Ratchford, and Eli Etzler also competed in the varsity race.

I thought the team stepped up and ran really well on a hard course at counties.

This was the final JV race of the year with Issac Hanson,  Seth Moses, Chandler McKinstry, and Ronan Perrone competing in this race.  Due to only having 4 members, they weren’t able to score but did well individually.

The boys and girls both compete at Regionals located at Thomas Johnson High School next Thursday the 31.
