Mrs. Ellis-Guss and Class of 2017 student Allison Eckloff show off a completed piece of the display.

Every year the digital photography teacher Mrs. Ellis-Guss produces a public art piece with the help of her photography students. The public art display always focuses on bringing together the staff and the students.

For this year, photography students took head shots of staff and students, cautioning against repeating any students.

Each picture features a peppy student filled with school pride. Some  are holding a piece of paper reading “We are one tribe” or using his/her hands to spell out “LANCERS” or a combination of the two.

“I wanted the students to show energy and personality,” said Ellis-Guss.

Photographs were edited in black and white, and the borders have red accents. The piece is a long strip that will flow along the walls of Main Street.

Ellis-Guss hopes to have the piece finished completely by registration night on Wednesday, February 8th 2016. She hopes to show off the amazing works to the incoming freshman Class of 2021.

Check out the finished product from last year.
