On September 5, the Linganore High School girl’s junior varsity field hockey team participated in a scrimmage against Liberty High School. The scrimmage was hosted by Urbana High School.

Linganore won with a final score of 12-0. A continuous scoring streak by sophomore Courtney Hyde (19) led the team to victory.

Hyde started the game off strong and scored most of the points with her strong offense and constant ball movement.

The team’s coordination is admirable as seen with their ability to interchange positions and willingness to let their teammates take the spotlight in order to succeed. Most notable is the team’s offense with their continuous driving of the ball down the field.

The team has demonstrated their capability so far this season by winning all three scrimmage matches.

“I thought we were going to beat them, but I did not know we would beat them by that much!” said sophomore team captain Lindsey Blum (11).

The Linganore team celebrates a hard-earned victory.

The team remains cautious going into their first full games of the season.

“I believe South Carroll will be more of a challenge, but we have to give it all we have and do what we can,” said freshman Cheyenne Conners (23).

Girl’s JV Field Hockey’s first game of the season is September 7 at Linganore.
