On May 20th the the volleyball program began a four-day clinic for middle school girls. The clinic is run by the varsity head coach Andrea Poffinberger as well as former members of the high school team. The students coaching the camp include Grace Coccagna, Piper Shields, Jessica Young, Emma France, Reagan Walsh, Madeline Williamson, Emily Day, Lauren Ryan, Amanda Cook and Mary Contardi.

This clinic helps advance their skill level and learn what it’s like to practice volleyball as a high school student. The clinic teaches basic skills such as how to pass, set and hit the ball.

There were 17 players who signed up for the clinic, ranging from beginners to intermediate players. The players were able to go through exercises where they would have all participants work together as a team in order to complete the tasks.

Member of the Class of 2021 Grace Coccagna said, “The camp was very fun to be a part of, and I am glad to share my passion with younger kids who are interested in volleyball.”

Head Coach Andrea Poffinberger said, “The middle school clinic gives an oppertunity for younger players in the area to grow their skills and work with the older high school players and coaches. It is also a great way to help the upcoming 9th graders through the registration for fall sports tryouts. I really enjoy meeting and working with volleyball players of all ages and is over all a great event.”
