On January 24, 2018, Chick-Fil-A hosted a spirit night from 5-8 PM to support Linganore High School’s Safe and Sane night for graduating seniors. Many students from Linganore dined at the new Chick-Fil-A location on Monocacy Blvd in Frederick.

Tommy Moyer and and Kelsey Ward were two of the students who represented Linganore at the fundraiser.

“It’s good food that everyone loves and it’s supporting a great cause,” said Tommy Moyer, class of 2018.

Safe and Sane is a post-graduation, alcohol and drug free event held at Mt. Saint Mary’s University. Each year there are games and competitions that allow students to win cash prizes. This large event requires hundreds of volunteers to supervise and chaperone the event. All seniors are welcome and encouraged to come immediately after graduation.

“Kids don’t want to do it because they want to be done with school after they graduate, but it’s a great time with lots of food and money and games. It’s the last time you’ll be together with all your high school friends and a great way to wrap up high school,” said Jeremy Brown, staff member at Linganore High School.
