Alex Tran, Andrew Nash, and John Massey pose for a picture as they celebrate their last 3 days of high school. The trio took on their last season of tennis with poise and enjoyed cheering each other on throughout every match.

For the Frederick County Tennis doubles Championships, Alexander Tran had a No. 1 seed in the tournament Friday the 11th, through Saturday, May 12th. He and his partner qualified for the district tournament, which will be held at Baker Park beginning Friday, May 18th.

The tennis team’s matches started at the end of March and went until the 4th of May. They were faced with rain during the beginning of their season, and many matches were rescheduled to the end of the season right before playoffs. Playoffs started May 10th and last all the way until the 26th when the MPSSAA State Championship takes place.

John Massey plans to spend two years at Frederick Community College and then transfer to Stevenson College. He is going to study forensic science.

“High school made me find out who I was. Along the way I found new hobbies I can take with me after high school,” said Massey.

Alex Tran plans to attend the University of Maryland to study cybersecurity.

Tran said, “Advice I can give underclassmen is to explore and find your passions; find your motivation to work hard; and give it everything you have.”
