The horticulture classes have been tending 650 red and white poinsettias.

The sale runs from December 11 to the winter break.

Each flower will be sold for $8 and all proceeds go to the horticulture department.

“We get the poinsettias pre-finished from Esbenshade’s Green House in Pennsylvania. The students have to care for the flowers, water them and fertilize them until the flowers are sold. It teaches the students responsibility and how to care for something,” said Mrs. Pat Beachy, horticulture teacher.

The sale is advertised on Find Out First.  Order forms will be available in the main office.  Many community members take advantage of the long-standing tradition.

Many churches around the area order poinsettias from Mrs. Beachy’s horticulture class for the Christmas season. There is no limit on how many poinsettias a person purchases.
