GSA members enjoyed a dance on Friday, February 16. The dance was open for all GSA members to come and hang out in a safe environment.

Ms. Jessica Baker, adviser, said,  “The Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) has had a winter formal for the past three years to raise money for the Trevor Project. This year’s Masquerade Ball theme boasted a turnout of 63 students including guests from other FCPS schools. We have raised $796 in ticket sales and donations to aid in the prevention of suicide in LGBTQ students. We appreciate everyone who contributed and made this event possible.”

Brady, a member of the class of 2019 reported, “The dance was really fun, because it’s the one school dance where being an LGBT student is welcome, and you know you aren’t gambling your safety by dancing with someone of the same gender, or by wearing a suit instead of a dress.”

Students can join the GSA at any time. See Ms. Jessica Baker for more information.
