On September 16, The Great Frederick Fair held country artists Brett Young and Riley Green. The show started at 7:30, while ecstatic fans were already waiting outside the gates at 6 pm. The Great Frederick Fair started on September 14 and will continue until September 22.

Diana Bryan, a member of the class of 2021, attended the concert and loved it. “[The concert] was great. My friends and I love country music, and it was a good way to just let loose since school has started.”

Some of the songs Young sang were, “Close Enough,” “Like I Loved You,” “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Left Side of Leavin’,” “You Ain’t Here To Kiss Me,” “Back on the Wagon,” and “Beautiful Believer.” He then exited the stage shouting to the fans “Be good.” The stage went dark leaving fans chanting for him to sing one of his hit songs “Mercy.” Young came running back out to end his show with two of his hit songs. Once he sang Mercy, he ended the concert with a more upbeat song, Sleep Without You.

The Great Frederick Fair is celebrating its 156th anniversary. They were originally founded, “to promote Agriculture and the Education of our Youth about the Industry of Agriculture.”

The Frederick Fair is a popular annual attraction that appeals to people of all ages.  They have animals, rides, food vendors, concerts, tractor pulls, and even demolition derbys. To find an event that the whole family can enjoy, click here!

This year, fair day is on Wednesday, September 19. It is always a big hit, allowing youth 18 and under to enter for free until 5 pm. So grab your friends and head to the fair.
