On a windy Wednesday, Linganore’s varsity girls and boys tennis team squared off against Tuscarora. The Lancers gave it their all, but the boys won their match while the girls fell short of capturing the winning game point.

The girls and boys singles teams were successful with their sharp serves that landed in a corner precisely out of reach of their opponents. They had minimal faults serving which cost them few careless points.

The singles matches were a battle of endurance because both teams were fairly evenly matched. The boys edged out their competition by a score of 3-2, while the girls posted a respectable 4-1 loss.

Unfortunately, the doubles teams didn’t fare as well and struggled to find rhythm with their partners because it’s still early in the season.

“It wasn’t our best game, but for the next one, we’ll be sure to work on our communication on the court,” said Cassidee Grunwald, doubles player and a member of the Class of 2018.
