On October 10, the JV Girls soccer team played against Walkersville High School, and won with a final score of 1-0.

During most of the game, neither team had scored any goals. The Lancers had to really change their playing style throughout the game in order to overcome their opponents’ compressed eight-man defense.

But with only two minutes left, Linganore managed to score a game-winning goal and beat Walkersville.

“The highlight of the night for me was watching our midfielder, Brooke Bennett, score a header off a corner kick taken by Emily Byrnes. The whole team was so excited to have that final score in the last two minutes of the game!” said Lourdes Jack, a defender on the JV Girls soccer team.
