The newest member of the Linganore staff, Kevin Clancy and his girlfriend at a concert.

From Day One, Kevin Clancy, new LHS health teacher, has  fallen in love with everything about the school.

“I could tell very quickly that Linganore is a tight-knit community and family,” he said. Even though online school has been tough for students and teachers alike, there’s still great opportunity lying ahead.

“I’m looking forward to seeing everything back to normal. Seeing students faces, being in the classroom, Friday night lights, pep rallies and everything else.”

Back in his high school days, Clancy played against Linganore when he attended Westminster High. The Lancers came out on top every year until Clancy’s senior year.

“We beat them for the first time in my career and ended up losing in the state championship game,” Clancy said. Life has come full circle for Clancy, after reminiscing about the past, he has finally joined the Lancer coaching staff and can’t wait until football is back in session.

Clancy has kept a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Good energy is what makes students in the classroom better, and Clancy seems to be the epitome of positive classroom reinforcement.

The transition to Linganore from South Hagerstown was smooth. Clancy said, “[Here] everyone cares about each other and makes sure everyone else feels welcome.”

Kevin Clancy used to coach football at South Hagerstown, and now coaches for the Lancers, but Clancy has new loyalties. “I coach football so I have to say that, but even if I didn’t coach, I bleed red and black now!”

Clancy has been coaching football for eight years. Clancy has loved every moment of being on the coaching staff. “They’ve treated me like I’ve been here for years. I just want to thank coach Connor for giving me the opportunity,” Clancy said.
