Fair Day: Photo of the Day 9/24/15
Families and friends enjoy carnival rides.
Wednesday, September 23rd, Frederick County schools had off for the Jewish holiday, and many took advantage of the day off to attend the annual Great Frederick Fair, which began on Friday, September 18th and continued the rest of the week.
“All the people working at the vendors are always super nice and there’s always good food,” said sophomore Lauren Hall.
This year celebrated the 153rd fair in Frederick County, promoting agriculture, knowledge, and fun, the fair advertises carnival rides, live music, farm animals, and more.
Wednesday is also known as Agriculture Day/ Children’s Day which consisted of ‘home arts and crafts demonstrations’ and ‘farm and garden demonstrations.’ The Great Frederick Fair website provides the daily schedule of events for the entire week.
Admission into the fairgrounds is $8 per ‘adult’ and free for children 10 years or younger. There’s plenty to see that is free for the whole family.
“The fair is a tradition for most families in Frederick County and it never disappoints,” said Hall.
