Varsity volleyball loses a tough fight against Urbana: Photo of the Day 9/27/19

On September 23, the Linganore Varsity volleyball team lost to Urbana with a score of 3-1. 

Team determination in the first set led to a tie the score 21-21, but Urbana came back and won the first round 25-21.

Linganore wouldn’t go down without a fight. Senior and Captain Lauren Ryan said, “We hustled a lot and had motivation for nothing to hit the floor.” 

The girls dominated the Hawks in the second set, resulting in a score of 22-25. 

Junior Jess Young said, “We played really well in the second set after we got our heads in the game.”

The victory in the second set spurred an increase of energy. Unfortunately, Urbana won the last two sets of the game. 

According to MaxPreps, the volleyball team is currently ranked 39th in the state of Maryland. They also have a hitting average of .08.

Even though the team lost, the girls a riding a wave of success, nine wins and two losses.

The next game is on October 1 against Tuscarora High School at home. The JV game starts at 5:45 and the Varsity game at 7:00.
