Class of 2018 Countdown: Lacrosse seniors rip it into the last eight days of school
With just eight days of high school left the Lacrosse seniors are working hard up until their day of graduation.
Led by head coach Rich Thompson, along with assistant coaches Steve Browne, Rich Larocco, Clint Pitts, Stan Swoyer, and Mike Wheat, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team have a record of 12-2 this season.
“These boys are hard at work on their goal of reaching the state finals again this season. They have their minds set on winning, and I believe that they can win that match based on the effort level that they have shown so far this year. They’re a phenomenal group of boys,” said Assistant Coach Swoyer.
The Boys Varsity team are led by senior captains Luke Freeman, Erick Stutz, Jordan Swoyer, Drew Twillman.
Freeman will be attending Frostburg State, majoring in business administration.
“For underclassmen I would advise them to get in the weight room and do the off-season workouts and always work hard because it will definitely pay off during the season,” said Freeman.
Stutz will be attending Wheeling Jesuit University, majoring in psychology.
“My advice to underclassmen in order to be successful in high school would be to just work hard and listen to your teachers, parents, and coaches,” said Stutz.
Swoyer will be attending Queens University of Charlotte, majoring business.
“My favorite memory from my time at Linganore playing lacrosse would have to be winning states as a sophomore,” said Swoyer.
Twillman will attending the University of Maryland, majoring in finance.
“My favorite memory from Linganore lacrosse would have to from us winning two CMC championships,”said Twillman.

Patrick Coggins who will be attending Wheeling Jesuit University, majoring in business.
Tristan Drenner who will be attending Wingate University, majoring in business.
PJ Hinch who will be attending Virginia Tech, majoring in electrical engineering.
Kenny McQuay who will be attending the University of Maryland, majoring in architecture.
Nick Pauley who will be attending James Madison University, majoring in business administration or accounting.
Dillon Riggin who will be attending the University of Maryland, majoring in accounting.
Jack Watsic who will be attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland, majoring in economics.
Clay Yingling who will be attending Bethany College, majoring in biology.
