Class of 2018 Bright Futures: Shannon Loughrey governs her future at Penn State

Shannon Loughrey chose to attend Penn State University in the fall. She is following in the footsteps of her parents, since both of her parents attended the school as well. She can’t wait to be a part of the great community that the school has.

Loughrey plans to major in international studies with a focus in foreign relations.

“After college I want work for the government, either in the White House or a security department,” said Loughrey.

While at Penn State, Loughrey is looking forward to attending football games at the Beaver Stadium and making new friends.

“Mr. Burch has allowed my to succeed in my love of history and has given me the opportunity to grow in my knowledge and passion for the subject,” said Loughrey.

Loughrey plans to participate in Penn State’s Newman Center, which will help her to continue her faith and make new friends in college.

“Model U.N. has really helped me to realize what direction of career that I want to pursue while at college. I want to thank my parents for always encouraging me in my goals and aspirations,” said Loughrey.

Loughrey would brighten other students’ days by bring joy and encouraging them to follow their own aspirations.
