Maria Pellicier takes a bite of the big apple at NYU

Maria Pellicier is excited to attend  New York University this fall. She plans to major in social work with a minor in political science.

“They have a really good social work program with lots of good internships,” said Pellicier.

Pellicier was deciding between multiple schools, including the University of Maryland and the University of Pittsburgh. NYU offered her a huge scholarship, which was a major deciding factor for her future education.

“I’m looking forward to living in the city, for sure, because I’ll always have something to do,” she said.

Pellicier is also president of the Spanish Honor Society and vice president of Rho Kappa, as well as a lawyer of four years on the mock trial team.  She was one reason why the team made it to regionals in their competition season.

“I’ll miss all of the clubs I’ve gotten to participate in,” said Pellicier.

And where else to find more opportunities to participate than the big city itself?

“It’s a really global campus,” said Pellicier.

NYU is also home to multiple famous alumni, such as Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Aubrey Plaza, James Franco, and many more.

Pellicier’s lasting impression of her visit to NYU was “how involved the students are and how neat the buildings are.”
