Next year LHS will be offering a Unified Physical Education class. This class will mirror the Unified Sports teams, but be included as part of the school day. If interested, please sign up for Unified PE for next year when you receive your course registration sheets next week!

New Market Elementary School will be holding a Science Fair on Thursday, February 19th at 8:45-11:30 am and 12:30-3:15 p.m. New Market needs science students who are interested in judging projects.  If interested contact [email protected].

If you are in 9-11th grade and are interested in the United States Naval Academy summer STEM program, applications are being accepted now through April 15, 2015. If you enjoy discovering new things, solving problems, and learning how things work this is the program for you! If applying be sure to use an email address that is checked often.

Starting on Monday, February 2nd, the Learning for Life students will be collecting the recycling everyday 4th period.  If you would please put your blue recycling bin outside of your door the students will then come to collect them.

Symphonic Band rehearsals begin Tuesday, this week from 2:45-5:15.  All winds and brass in grades 10-12 are expected to attend. See Mr. Lloyd with questions. Congrats to everyone that participated in the All County-Concert that past weekend.

The NJROTC program has had another successful competition weekend, and here are the details- The Linganore NJROTC drill team competed in the Patuxent drill meet this weekend, placing third in both color guard and armed regulation drill.

And now for sport related news:

The academic team defeated both Oakdale and Tuscarora. They were tied with Tuscarora going into the final two questions but pulled out the win 12 to 11 against Tuscarora and 12 to 7 against Oakdale.

Congrats to both girls and boys varsity basketball teams. They both won over the weekend, defeating Middletown.

Please come support the JV and Varsity Cheerleaders at the county competition that will be held at Oakdale High School. Doors open at 6:15 and the competition starts at 7.
