Next month is National Poetry Month! The National English Honor Society is organizing poem readings on the morning announcements. If you have a favorite poem that is 20 lines or less, you can sign up outside of Mrs Rebestky’s room, C203. This is an opportunity for members to get hours, so sign up soon!

Sign ups for the Unified Track & Field Team are underway! Students should sign up in Mrs. Henry’s room, A133 as soon as possible. There will be a 45 minute team meeting will held on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:30pm in room A133. Students looking for a unique  and fun experience should consider coming to learn more about this special program! Hope to see you there!

AP Environmental Science will have review session #3 for the National Exam in Room A139 at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Congratulations to the following students for winning awards at the Western District Youth Art Contest. 1st place went to Matthew Nam for his Acrylic painting -Animal Skull, 2nd place went to Emily Jones for her Colored Pencil Drawing- Mask of Nature, and 3rd place went to Katie Lamb for her Oil Pastel drawing- Skull with Pumpkins.

Congratulations to Erin Formulak for placing 1st at the Western District Youth Art Contest, photography and computer art division for her photograph- Fastened. Allison Eckloff also received an honorable mention for her photograph- Mask and Leaves.

This past saturday the Linganore NJROTC drill team competed in the Area 5 Northern Regional Drill championship at Bowie High School. The team placed 4th in armed standard, 4th in armed exhibition, 3rd place in uniform personnel inspection, 2nd in unarmed standard, 2nd in unarmed exhibition, 1st in color guard, 3rd place overall at drill, and 4th place in meet overall.

Congratulations to the LHS Academic team for their outstanding performance on “It’s Academic” this past saturday. Alex Phelps, Andrew Tran, and Jeremy Carter took on Wilde Lake High School and Mt. St. Joseph High School and won with a score of 500 points.

Congratulations to  Adam Beisser who finished 4th in the 60 meter hurdle at the new balance national championships in New York City Friday. This is a great accomplishment for one of our schools best athletes. Congratulations to Adam for a fine performance.
